Help, No one can leave comments on some posts

Why does it say “Comments are closed” at the bottom of some of my posts? I didn’t close them. In Discussion under Settings on my Dashboard, I assigned no expiration date for posting comments. And I have no idea which posts have them closed, unless I stumble upon them as I update.
I then went and “turned on” the comment ability on individual posts, but I was having to do it for every one. Now I’m finding even the posts where I clicked on the box manually are changing back to not allowing comments. I found a post from January 2014 with comments turned off and I didn’t turn them off. I updated the themes thinking that might help. Nope. Help?????

You’ve reached support for the free blogs hosted at WordPress.com. The site you’ve indicated is running a self-hosted/installed version of WordPress (using the free WordPress.org software).
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. You can read more about that here:
However, this may work. If you want to allow comments on all posts, please go to Posts > All posts in your Dashboard. Then select all posts by checking the box left of “Title”. Then, go to the drop down menu labeled “Bulk Actions” and select “Edit”. Click on “Apply”, and you will see another dropdown menu next to “Comments”. Select “Allow”, and click “Update”.
This should enable Comments on all the blog posts you checked off. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to your files, so I wouldn’t be able to check if this worked for you.

Thank you! I did this and it said 20 posts were updated. :) I hope this remedies the problem.
