Help! on figuring out how to code “pages” widget into horizontal nav!?!
-
Hello All,
I want to make my pages widget into a horizontal navigation.
http://inhouseinsights.wordpress.com/I asked about earlier in this post:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/help-back-to-main-website-from-blog?replies=17Devblog told me that this is possible
“You could modify the skin you’re currently using and use the “Pages” widget for your top navigation bar, but writing the CSS code to accomplish that can be somewhat tricky. It’s totally doable..”So is anyone out there that knows how to do it? or can lend a helping hand?
I try to figure it out but I am lost and need to get this figured out as soon as possible! Thanks!

I don’t have the energy to post all of the details but if you look at the CSS on my blog, you’ll find it in there (thanks to the help from devblog a while back).

OK here is my problem,
I figured out what code to move my pages to make a horizontal navigation, and when i use the css preview on it, it looks great but, when i directly connect to it,
http://inhouseinsights.wordpress.com/
the search widget is now interfering with the pages widget and i can’t figure out why!?!
I used padding, margins and everything else i can think of.
Is there anyone that has the expertise to fix the problem? -
here is what it looks like for me

OK… you’re using Sandbox. The old version, which you’re using has “skins”, if you choose the last one (which doesn’t have a preview because it reads something like “no CSS”), it will provide you with a top navigational bar, and you won’t have to deal with positioning the Pages widget to make it look like a nav bar.
Another choice is to change your theme to Sandbox-10 (which I previously recommended).
Change to Sandbox-10 and I’ll help you with your CSS. It might take me some time because I’d work on it on my free time. If you don’t mind waiting and are interested in me helping, let me know (and change to Sandbox-10).

I would love for some help. but now i wanted to do a little bit more changes. would like me to tell you want i want here?

i just changed to sandbox-10 and updated what i want to do with the blog.
I want the pages )that I also added) to be a horizontal navigation.
It ideally will be like the same navigation I have on the home page, but if not close too.

Thanks for the helping hand, this is my 1st custom blog! -

oh, and you don’t need the page widgets on the sidebar because they’re added automatically to the nav bar. You can take the page widget out of the sidebar.

BTW, because of the number of items in your nav bar, I’m going to need to modify your header image so that they fit well there. Can I do that?

Thanks soooo much!
You are a godsend!
How ever can i repay your helpfulness?
Also I wanted to let you know that I want the sidebar on the right side instead of the left.
and is it easy to make the nav look the same as the nav on the site that I provided before?
