Help on redirect and custom url question

My company was acquired and I need to redirect my premium URL to the new company’s website. Before too long, the blog will probably just be deleted. How would I accomplish this?
In addition, I just rec’d word that this custom URL will be expiring and 1) I can’t seem to figure out how to renew it (I am an admin, but didn’t make the purchase) and 2) if I do let it expire, does the custom one get redirected to the “free version”?

1) you need to be the exact account / user that bought an upgrade to renew it
2) not really – the old address will get some sort of error message that might be at the internet level (can’t find server) – so no redirect to the “free” version – but the content will be safe
it looks like you are asking about a Map a Sub-domain upgrade? Is this correct?
If so those upgrades have a sharp cutoff point, a domain name registration can drag on for 60 days if not renewed and not work during most of those 60 days
If you need to renew the sub-domain domain mapping – then the mapping can be allowed to expire and then be purchased new (not renewed) by an Admin on your blog – you will probably need some staff help to clear some old records from the site that sometimes prevent an upgrade from being purchased – but the down time on the blog is fairly short
