help oxygen theme and custom css

    hi,
I’ve opened a blog with the Oxygen theme: http://future4work.com/
everything is great but i need to turn it static-like and change a couple of things.
so the question is: can i do it with the “custom design” feature?
    The changes are:
    1) there is now a slide of images on the homepage.
1.1 – remove the date on the slide (I’ve seen that it can be done but I don’t know how to make the bar also disappears …)
1.2 – remove the miniature slide under the mail slide image
1.3 – how to make that the images of the slide does not point to “post”.
    2) On the main page there are a couple of pills that say “recientes articles” and “more articles”. It would be possible to change “artículos” to “noticias” (the text)?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    1.1, 1.2 and 2 are easy, but I don’t think 1.3 is possible.
Since you don’t want the images to link to posts, then you probably need to reconsider: you don’t need Oxygen (or any theme with a posts slider), you need to use a different theme and insert a regular gallery of images as a slideshow in a static page or a sticky post.

Changing text in buttons, such as changing “more articles” to “artículos” to “noticias” is not something you can do with the WordPress.com custom design upgrade. You could do that if you switched to a WordPress.org setup, and we have a paid service called Guided Transfer where someone can move everything to a new host for you (or you can also do that on your own). See http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org for more details.

Make sure to start by reading this if you consider switching:

Also, looking at another theme as an alternative, as justpi suggestion, would also be a really good route.
