Hello, I am trying to upload photos, and they can not bee seen (although I did it once at it worked, not I can’t do it). They are just big white squares. Can someone PLEASE help me? Thank you!

It’s strange, they are uploading, everything is fine, but I can’t see them. Just white boxes. No error message though. I’m really confused and would be so happy if someone out there had an answer.

No, it’s very frustrating, they are going to the media library, but not visible… I might have to go to a different site as I am just checking this one out. Do you like it in general? If this is what it’s like, I can’t use it as I have many images to post.

xenophiliac,
Are you saying your pictures arent appearing in your <i>posts</i> or aren’t appearing in your media gallery? Are you using one of the supported file formats? JPEG, GIF, etc?

Thank you for responding!!!!
I have tried to insert about 30 images into my blog. Of those 30, 1 image has shown up. The other 29 images are in my media library, but the file name only. No images can be seen when I click on the file name in Media Library, as well as in the blog. These are all jpegs.
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated! Thanks!

Well, I may not the best person to answer your question, but it sounds like you are uploading images that are too big.
Read through that post and see if it, or the linked articles, answer your questions.
Other posts that may be helpful:
this “how to” video on uploading images
Frequently asked questions on images.
Check those first, and if they dont answer your questions, I suggest you ask support. (by clicking on the “support” link on the top right of your dashboard)
And dont get discouraged. WordPress is really the best blog format! Theres always some confusion at first, but it will become very easy very quickly for you.

That’s good to know you think it’s the best because I’m ready to try another. I have contacted support, they got back to me once, but not again. I just need to know if this is a usual thing, or if I am just not doing something correctly.
It’s not because they are too big, because I have tried all different sizes. The strange thing is, this morning it worked fine with 1 image, but I now can not do it. Even with the same image that I used this morning. I can take it from the Media Library, but not from my desk top. Very strange, I just don’t know how to get an answer.

I think if you already have an image in your media library, and you try to upload the same image again without first changing the name of the file, it will cause that problem… I had that problem once.
You might also watch the video I linked to above, and make sure you are doing everything correctly, then search the FAQ I linked to above, and the Forums to see if anyone else has had the same problems you are experiencing.
Yes, I definately think wordpress is the best, and I use lots of images on my blog. And no, it doesnt sound like a usual problem at all. I have almost never had problems and the only times I have had issues with images is when I was unwittingly doing something wrong.
So hang in there, they respond pretty quickly and the people in these forums can probably help you figure out what the issue is.

Thanks again. Yes, I am doing everything correctly. They are just not showing up. I have tried everything under the sun.
How does the support team get in touch? Via email? Because I have sent several requests but have not received an answer in the past few hours. How often do they respond?
Thanks, Nina

not necessarily *that* often, but within a day at most. and yes by email.
Anyone else know what her problem may be?

I’ve been having the same problem at times. Sometimes when I switch to HTML view and back in the editing screen, they appear correctly. If not, I just delete the image in question from the Media Library and re-upload it, and it works fine. Inconvenient, but effective.

Help, Help! I’m having the same problem. Neither the masthead or pictures are showing throughout the site. I updated page #1 using a temporary photoshack account as host. It is not a suitable solution, though. None of the images on any of the other pages are appearing.
Any words of wisdom?
Code is poetry.

Check the spelling. There is a different between .JPG and .jpg
I have this problem before.
