HELP! php files changed to notepad "wp-config-sample" process

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi guys,

    I need a bit of help. This might seem a bit of a simple one, but being new to wordpress, still being up at 4am UK time and still not sorted the problem, I’m at a complete loss with what to do next so I’m just going to get straight to the point;

    Installed wordpress with no problems but the problem started after changes to “wp-config-sample” were made. I opened it up in notepad, made the changes with no probs and saved it and unfortunately it changed every single file within wordpress to open with notepad.

    I haven’t been able to change it back to “php” and I have tried deleting wordpress altogether and installing it again in an attempt to install the files as they were when first downloaded.

    Is there anyway of fixing this problem or is that it for me and wordpress? lol

    Would really really appreciate help on this
