Help please!

I am really new in working with word press and i have few questions. Any help would be appreciated.
1) How can i delete the settings on the right side of the blog ( archives, categories, meta) etc? I use the contempt version of word press.
2) Is it possible to make the comments, permalink, posted by…, and the rest at the bottom part of my posts invisible or even delete them ? I would like not to use them. I think i have found how to make the comments post unable but i d prefer not to see then there.Well i am sure that i have more questions, but at the moment the dissapearence of these ”elements” is the importance for me.
Thank you very much for reading.
Any response is welcome. -
1. You can get the “settings” on the right to disappear by placing an empty text widget into the sidebar. You can do this by going to presentation -> Sidebar Widgets in your dashboard.
2. Is unfortunately not possible without purchasing the CSS upgrade and then lots of mucking around with the theme to get it to look how you want it to. There’s no other way as wp.com uses shared themes for all the users.

Thanx. I tried to do it and it works… But there is still there a small white blue empty box.
How can i delete it??thank you for replying

You can’t delete it. It will always remain there.
Also I have visited your blog and have some advice to offer for what it’s worth. If you intend to use many images in your blog then you should consider limiting the number you have displayed on your first page to lessen the time it takes for your readers’ computers to load the pages. You change set this on your Reading page here
-> dashboard -> options – reading -> scroll down to “Blog Pages” adjust and then click -> update options
There are other recommendations regarding images as well. The first is to register to get a free 3rd part account with flickr, photobucket or a similar place offering image storage. You full sized photos will be kept there and on your blog you can choose to have thumbnails linked back to the full size images.
If you don’t want to go with thumbnail sizes then you need to (1) optimize your images and you need to know the (2) maximum image size for your theme and (3) you need to know the maximum limit for images 50 megs.

On any write page for a post (or page) -> to the right hand side of the editor box you will see a line of blue buttons. The top one is CATEGORY and the second one is DISCUSSION + . Click on the plus sign a drop drop opens and you can choose to disallow comments. Happy Blogging!

Your theme is Contempt and “no” you haven’t closed the comments. I know this because I just left you a comment that you can now delete. Perhaps you forgot to click “save” after you dis-allowed comments?
No you can’t delete the comment box it’s hardcoded into the theme by the designer. But after you turn the comments off it will be gone and all that will be seen below the post is this
Comments Off | Uncategorized | Permalink
Now if you actually turned the comments off as described on each and every post and clicked “save” every time you did, if it doesn’t work, you will have to send in a feedback. -
