HELP! Please take down an old wordpress site or the government will take away our non-profit status!
-
Hello! I need some help to disable and turn off gsbcsamaj.wordpress.com. It’s a very old site for our non-profit organization. The government is demanding that we take it down asap or we lose our non-profit status! Please help! The person who original built the site is not around anymore and we aren’t even sure what their email address is (let alone be able to access it!). Our new site is at gsbc.ca. We haven’t updated this site in years! What do I do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi kruttikaphalke. I’m actually talking about gsbcsamaj.wordpress.com. <— This is the site I’m trying to disable/deactivate.
Our team looked at our previous emails and we can’t find any logins for this site anywhere (last email was from 2013).
Can you suggest what we can do?
mayur.ca is my personal site, and I’m not concerned about it in this forum topic.

Okay here it was written mayur.ca so I thought you need help with that blog.

To close the site you need to login and do it through account settings.
But since you have lost your login credentials, you can fill out our account recovery form, so staff can definitely get in touch with you as soon as possible. Thanks

I looked at the account recover form already. But unfortunately, I don’t have any way to authenticate. Can we send our non-profit incorporation details to someone that can use that as proof that we want that site taken down?

Hi there,
Tagging this thread to modlook so staff can look into this. They can decide whether it can be taken as proof of ownership or not.
Please keep patience while someone from support staff gets back to you.
Thanks.

Hi there,
We cannot accept any other proof or ownership other than the email address associated with that site, a transaction ID, or the original activation email.
We have a strict policy in place to protect our users from third parties who might try to use our support system to gain access to other users’ accounts.

Hi fstat. I fully understand these strict policies, but this is a special circumstance. I can provide any other details including additional proof, certificate of non-profit incorporation etc if that will help. Please help us sort this out.

Thanks kruttikaphalke. I’m gathering any additional details from our team to provide further proof that we do in fact represent this old site.

Hey there,
Let’s send this over to the account recovery team – they can look over this circumstance and hopefully find a solution for you. If you are not able to fill out the recovery form here, please email them at
passwordhelp@wordpress.comwith what you provided us in this thread. They’d be happy to take a look. Thanks!

OK, great! I will have the team send an email over to them. I DID use the account recovery form, but since I didn’t have any of the authentication proof, I hacked it with a fake authentication code. Just trying to get someone to take a look.
I hope this gets sorted out.

Also, forgot to mention, I also have some documents from the government as well as our non profit certification document as well as a PDF. I will send both over to the email provided.
