help please, the interface covers both sides

    when i tried to use the editor interface “wp admin” an empty black bar [whose items are on the left side see picture] cover and hide the input box [on the right side] so i cannot see if i am typing correctly or if i typed errors or typos so how do i fix this alignment problem so i can see the text box?
    in the past the text box was on the left so the menu side bar did not cover it but now the menu side bar covers BOTH sides and covers hiding the input box so what can i do to uncover this?
