Help please! The photographs on my blog are too big…
-
Hi,
I’m new to blogging and have just set up a photography blog, but i’ve re looked at some of the posts and the gallery page and the images are way too big, there ok as thumb nails but when you click on them, they fill the whole screen. How do i make them smaller or ensure that no one is going to take them without my permission? I was going to water mark them all but it seems a shame to write all over them as my blog will be primarily images. I guess i just need them as thumbnails without the option to click to see a bigger image.
Thanks for reading

I checked your blog, however, it seems you’ve figured out the problem. If not, and I am just missing the problem… Here’s a quick how-to. When you’re editing the post, simply hover over the image. You should see two icons show up, one being a sort of picture icon. Click it and you will be lead to quite a few options. One will include resizing. Or, if you want to get more technical. Go to the HTML coding of your post and find the written in code. From there, you can just fuss with the size through trial and error. Hope this helps.

“I just need them as thumbnails without the option to click to see a bigger image”. See here:
Uploading and inserting images: the three (plus one) link options
But if you don’t want them to link to the larger original, better upload downsized copies instead of downsizing them via the post editor tool. See here:

I’ve been using Picasa’s ability to “export” a photo to a different folder, thereby creating a smaller image without loss of quality. The default seems to be image width of 800 pixels, which coincidentally seems about perfect for my blog. Picasa is free, downloadable from Google. I hate it as a picture library manager, but for that image resizing, it’s great.
