Help Re-arranging Pages

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi. I’m creating my website and am having a problem re-arranging pages. At this time, I have 2 pages so far, the Home Page and About us page – I want the Home page to be the first stage and come before the About page. But when I follow the process of doing this through the Editor > Navigation process like that, nothing happens – it shows during editing that this has happened but when I check out Site View, no change has taken place. I’m using the Twenty Twenty Four Theme. Kindly assist. Thank you.

  • Hi there,

Sorry to hear you’re running into trouble with this. A couple of quick things to check first.

When you reorder the pages in Editor > Navigation, make sure you actually save the change. There should be a button in the bottom left that says something like Review 1 change. Click that, then confirm and save. If the change is not saved, it will look correct in the editor but won’t appear on the live site.

If you’ve already done that and it’s still not updating on the front end, we’ve just put together a step by step guide that walks through creating and managing menus with block themes like Twenty Twenty Four:

    https://wordpress.com/support/menus/create-a-menu/

That guide includes screenshots and covers the exact setup you’re describing.

If it’s still not behaving as expected after that, let me know and we can take a closer look.

    Thanks!

    Jamie
