help recover cancelled domain

    Hello,

    I’ve registered the domain anamarianistor.com with wordpress.com and cancelled it last week. It’s been 6 days since the cancellation and the domain has not become avaiable yet. Can you please help me recover it?

    Hi @anamarianistor88, when you cancel a domain that’s been registered for more than 96 hours (or allow it to expire), it has a few days of a grace period before it goes through a redemption process. Please read this article so you can understand the phases and associated risks.

    The registrar charges an $80 fee to retrieve it at this point, in addition to the regular renewal fee. Since it’s pretty time-sensitive, I’ll send an invoice now so you can take care of that right away. We can reach out to the registrar as soon as it’s paid.

    Or if you prefer, you can just let that process continue. If it does get released, it will likely be several weeks, but there’s a significant chance of losing the domain to another buyer if someone else happens to want it. If you want to use that option, let us know so we can cancel the invoice.
