help recovering my account pls

i’m currently locked out from my account and the email has been changed without me knowing. how do i go from here? i dont have the required info to use the account recovery system…….

It would allow us to verify if you’re hosted with WordPress.com, and if it is, allow us to confirm the account which owns the website, from which point we might be able to give some advice.
However, if you have none of the information accepted in the Account Recovery process, you can’t take back your account. Even if your email was changed, are you still unable to find your original activation link?

who in the world keeps an email about activating their account… and its at least 2yrs ago.. sigh nevermind then

You should be able to search for it! It would be an email from “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”.

@tyn2090 the email address on that account has never been changed since it was created, and that was about 9 years ago. Is that likely your account still? Can you confirm what email address you were using there?
Or is there a chance that is your username on a WordPress.org installation at some other host? That would be a separate database so you could be that username there while someone else is using that name here.
If you are running your own installation (which we can confirm if you’ll send the link, or you can confirm using a tool like whoishostingthis.com) these steps can help you regain access, and your host can likely help you if needed:

You also mentioned the email changed without you knowing… can you let us know how you found that?

Well 1st, I tried resetting my password and no email came. I tried using my email instead of username to reset and it says no email found… So yea I figured it changed without me knowing
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
And no I’m talking abt the free hosting on WordPress, not the self hosted WordPress.

The email address is redacted for your own security. Staff however can view the email address.

eregaiagames.wordpress.com does belong to the WordPress.com username, eregaia.
I checked again, and the Yahoo email address you mentioned above used to be connected to that account, but it was updated over two years ago. The email address update was made from the same IP address usually used to access that account, meaning it was made via the account owner’s own computer. As such, there’s nothing to indicate here that the change was unauthorized.
If you don’t remember the new address that you’d changed to, I’m afraid there’s not much else we can do. For security reasons we cannot tell you what that email address is, and if you cannot provide other verification of your account ownership we cannot give you access to the account.
