Help removing a "Search" setting
-
Hi there,
I am currently having a problem with a search box. I was adding Widgets and am unsure how this search box is present as none of the sidebars or widget areas have the search widget listed. Can this be removed and if yes, how?

Thank you for any advice!

To install widget go to > Appearance > Widgets
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/search-widget/
Note that widgets have visibility settings that determine which pages they will display on. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibilityTimethief

Thanks for looking into this. I know I added a contact form on the Contact page but I’m confused as to why the Search box is present to the left of the main image on the Contact, Galleries and Testimonials pages. I had previously removed the Search widget from all sidebars so I don’t understand how that Search box is still present unless it is something that cannot be removed in the Widget section.
Thanks again for your help.

I added the Text Widget to the primary and secondary sidebars as this was recommended on one of the pages you suggested. Thanks for taking the time to link them!

I don’t see any widgets at all on any of these pages Contact, Galleries and Testimonials pages.
Please post screenshot, upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.

Were you able to get this sorted out? I’m not seeing a search box anywhere, and the two text widgets you’ve added have no content in them.
Please let me know if you still need any help. Thanks.

I was able to get it sorted out thankfully! The second link that Time Thief posted had a section of what to do if all the widget sidebars and areas were empty but something was showing up, which was the recommendation to insert the text widget but leave it blank. That removed the Search box that I was seeing and everything looks the way I had it before.
Thanks for checking back in!
