Help required attaching domain name to website – can buy a plan but want to attach to current site

  Hello, I bought a domain name from another site which I wish to attach to my wordpress site… it seems you need to buy a plan to attach a domain name to my currently free site…this is fine and I selected a plan but to buy the plan it looks like I need to start the site (from scratch?!) How do I simply add a plan to my current site? (not having to start again!) Or is there a way to add my domain name to my current free site? If anyone could help I would be very grateful as this seems to be the only way to contact wordpress!! :? Thanks :)

  Good Morning –

  No, you don’t need to start from scratch. Head over to https://wordpress.com/pricing/ and pick the plan you want. Once you pay it will be added to your account.

  Then, click on this sequence to connect the domain.
  My Sites – Manage- Domains – Add New

  The domain can be connected through mapping or a transfer.
