Help required in importing the back up web content.

    Hi,

    Previously I was owning web site CompTechie.com and hosted through BigRock (using word press), but later discontinued and have the back up of the web site received from BigRock. The backup file is in .tar.gz (backup_comptt66_18-06-2013.tar.gz) format and would like to import the content now. Could you please let me know how to import this file?

    The only way you can import content to WordPress.com is via an XML import file. If your file is not in that format you’ll need to first import it to another service that can import your format, and then export it as an XML from there.
