Help re.thinking of switching

I have a portal that uses another system at the moment. The things that are important to me are: a calendar that visitors can add events to; these events then must be approved by the admin. A links system that has categories and sub categories. A section where I can show small advertisements. A forum. I have about 10.000 links that need to be shown, and I show a few hundred events a month. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate their suggestions. Thanks in advance, Jack

You can’t host advertisements at the free wordpress.com web site (you can upgrade to VIP and get advertisements).
But it sounds like you need to visit wordpress.org to get answers to your questions and not wordpress.com.

Absolutely none of those things are possible at WordPress.com except categories and subcategories, for the record.
