Help retrieving lost blog?
-
Hi there – this may sound strange, but about a month to 6 weeks ago I got in trouble at work for the existence of my blog that I used to communicate with a closed community about my husband’s illness and in a panic took it all down. Granted, I probably could have used security settings to much better effect and not have had the unfortunate outcome that someone would pass it around until the wrong person saw it. However, in retrospect, I wonder if it is possible to have it restored that I may be able to back it up or print it or copy it or download it in some way, because it represents a time stamped record of something awful our family went through. I can’t risk having it online open for all, but is there a private; invitation-only option, and is it possible to have it restored? Can’t hurt to ask :)

Good Morning @blowfish2000 – Once a .wordpress.com domain is deleted it is gone forever, “Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address.” https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/ Nobody is able to use that specific domain ever again.
The content that you exported can be used again on a new blog with a new domain.
You can register your new domain here: http://wordpress.com/start/domains/
You can follow this guide to get your new blog up and running in 5 easy steps: https://en.support.wordpress.com/five-step-blog-setup/
