Help Retrieving My WordPress Site
-
Hello,
I run a blog freshairphilosophy.com and am having trouble accessing my site. It appears that all of the pages and posts are gone and it is not properly connecting to my hosting site HostGator. I don’t know that to do. I see the site name on my profile still and can see the comments and pages that were on my site. But all of the content is gone and is showing like a brand new site. Please help me determine if there is any way I can retrieve my content and properly connect my accounts so this does not happen again.WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host freshairphilosophy.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting.
To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions. You can learn more about the performance and security benefits of our managed hosting here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/
Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at Hostgator. As a result, we do not have access to your site and are not familiar with the source of your issue.
The good news is that your hosting provider may be able to help in this instance since they typically manage backups for sites they host directly. I recommend contacting Hostgator for further assistance since they are in the best position to help.
After you have restored your site at Hostgator to normal working order, you are welcome to migrate your site to our WordPress.com managed hosting by using this plugin.
The Move to WordPress.com plugin allows you to start migrating a self-hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com directly from the self-hosted site. Prerequisites The Move to WordPress.com plugin installed on your self-hosted WordPress site. Jetpack version 7.9 or higher activated on the self-hosted site. All incompatible plugins deactivated on the self-hosted site. ✅ ThOnce you are hosted here, our daily and incremental backups (which you can access any time you wish) will have you covered from any future unexpected issues. Should anything come up that you are not able to resolve for yourself, you can use our in-house WordPress site support (with live chat option) to ask our Happiness Engineers for assistance. Thanks!
