Help setting up

    Hi, is there is an easy way to copy everything from another site? I’m currently using Shopify for my e-commerce store & website but need to find a cheaper solution thus why I’m looking into WordPress. I spent a lot of time customizing and setting up my site with Shopify and really like the look and feel of it! The thought of starting from scratch with another platform makes my stomach churn. I am not a coder and don’t have much experience so any beginner friendly advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advanced.

    Hi there,

    This is not possible on our free sites (which do not offer ecommerce as an option) but can be done by upgrading to our Business Plan, and then uploading the WooCommerce plugin to your site.

    WooCommerce offers a way to import Shopify content (products) into your WooCommerce store. There is a guide here explaining the process: https://woocommerce.com/posts/migrate-from-shopify-to-woocommerce/

    This is a little bit tougher to address. The truth is that Shopify is a completely different platform than WordPress and not interchangeable. This is further complicated because Shopify makes it kinda hard to move. They provide a way to export your store data (products, orders, etc.) but they don’t provide a way to export your site design itself. It’s possible that you will need to redo those portions of your site, but I do have a couple of suggestions that will help:

    1. We assign a “staging address” with our business sites, so you would be able to get totally set up here with your replacement site in private. This way you can keep your current site online until you are ready to “launch” the replacement here on WordPress.com
    2. Our Business Plan (necessary for ecommerce) includes priority support so we would be here to help with questions you have as you get set up and familiar with WordPress Specifically if you purchase the yearly (not monthly) option as that includes 24/7 live chat support which is amazingly helpful when you are first starting out.
