help setting up feedburner
-
Thanks again for the response. I think i’ll be ok with having my account with wordpress.com at the moment, and if later on i run into a case i’m un-able to set something up i’ll consider changing over to wordpress.org then.
isadora, obviously the advertising question doesn’t have anything to do with feedburner, but it was an issue brought up in this thread.

ellaella says
“To burn a FB feed, enter your url or feed url in the appropriate box on the opening screen at FB and it will lead you through the process.” NOT!
I have been trying to create a widget for about an hour. There is no “appropriate box” at FB. I registered there and followed their ambiguous instructions for adding a widget by laboriously typing in a bunch of code to a Text widget. The box to enter the email address never appears in my sidebar (although the rest of the FB stuff does) and when I go back to the text widget some of the code is gone.
Why is this so hard???? What am I missing?? (I have 4x checked the code and looks OK) -
How about a link to your blog?
If “the rest of the FB stuff” is showing up then you found the Burn a Feed This Instant box on the main screen. Your mention of code disappearing makes me wonder if you’re trying to use the procedure for self-hosted blogs with wordpress.org software.

OMG–I just realized I’ve been trying to use Feedblitz rather than FB.
At FB, I don’t see the “Burn a Feed This Instant” box on the main screen. But I’ll try whay I do see.
Still–Feddblitz indicates that it also works with WP

I’m not familiar with Feedblitz but it’s possible you were using code for wordpress.org blogging software. Many sites and services don’t differentiate and many wordpress.com bloggers are unaware of wordpress.org so it can be confusing on all sides.
