HELP! SOMEONE IS COPYING MY WEBSITE & pretending to be me
-
Here is the fake website: [redacted]
I found out about this fake website due to an email I got today which purported to be from WordPress – but it was a different format from the one I usually get from you. I clicked on the link and got to a link to this FAKE website which pretends to be mine.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Yes -
Hi, any idea how the other site has your email address? It seems to be hosted with this provider, so if you need to file a DMCA, you’ll want to reach out to them directly:

Thank you, supernovia, for responding to my plea:
My email address is publicly available – it’s published with my articles on the internet.
I don’t know what a DMCA is! I am in a panic about this. The imposters could post all sorts of rubbish on the fake site and it would appear to be MY work!
I know little about computers – someone set up my wordPress website for me some 12 or so years ago. I don’t understand any of the computer Lingo . When I graduated from law school, we didn’t have copying machines – Legal secretaries used carbon paper; and court reporters used shorthand and steno pads. And that is where the technological part of my brain [such as it is] still is.
So if you could say what you said in 3rd grade language, that would be helpful.

No worries. Just go to this website:
https://websitesource.com/They have a chat there. Give them a link to the offending site, and let them know it’s stolen content. They’ll walk you through their process.
Good luck!
