Help switch from one website builder to wordpress

  Hi I have been asked by a friend to make their website ‘solarsolutionsbonaire.com’ a wordpress site. Unfortunately his host is ‘Namecheap.com’ who use a free app called ‘Canvas.’ I tried a few different ways to install WordPress but their system doesn’t allow it and their step by step talks about ‘Softaculous’ which our domain does not have.

  I then spoke to their help tech who advised to go into the DNS settings and switch from domains.canvas.me. to nameservers ns1.wordpress.com.
  I have done this and waited all evening and the website still does not seem to have wordpress… please can you help?
