Help! Titles have suddenly appeared on all pages

    Hello! Seeking help.

    On our English site, since a couple of days ago, titles are now on every page: http://glen-clyde.com/eng/
    They should look the same as our Japanese site:
    http://glen-clyde.com/jp/.

    After Googling, I’ve tried various “basic” ways to repair via style.css (e.g., .hidetitle .entry-title {
    display:none;
    })
    None have had any effect. Help!
    Theme is Harmonic.

    Addendum to original post: No changes to the site were made to account for the titles. Just discovered by coincidence today.

    Tried this fix and it worked:.entry-title {
    display: none;
    }

    BUT there’s this grey horizontal line that remains on every page. Help?

    Used

    .content-area article.hentry .entry-header {
    display: none;
    }

    Resolved now. Thanks for reading. (Why did all these titles suddenly appear though?)

    For hosting issues contact your web host. For software support read on.

    You are posting to the wrong support forum. This is WordPress.COM support and that site is not on our servers.

    To be clear we do not provide support for local installs of WordPress.ORG software, or for WordPress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, linked to WordPress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites WordPress.COM account page.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    The wordpress.ORG support forum is at http://wordpress.org/support. The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/
    WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
    See also https://apps.wordpress.org/support/ for app support.

  • @glenclyde01 as timethief pointed out, these forums are for WordPress.com sites. If I had to guess, you edited your theme directly at some point and lost the changes on update. Using Customize > CSS is the best way to avoid that issue.

    For more help, head to https://wordpress.org/support, or if you’d like to move your site to our services, we have a guide here. Cheers!

    Thanks. I inherited this site so it’s been a series of jarring discoveries in the midst of just trying to do updates and make things look good.

    So, we should go for support at wordpress.org then.
    While fiddling with updates etc I always saw wordpress.com and this is the first I’m hearing of wordpress.org.

  • WordPress.com is a service (which you aren’t using) and WordPress.org is free software you install and maintain on your own. If you like analogies, it’s like the difference between a restaurant and a recipe.

    WordPress.org isn’t “staff” for the free software, since it is a project rather than a company. But there is a community there that is helpful. Good luck!
