  Dear Support
  We have as familiy create a site named ” tenheuvel ” on world press.com. We do not want that people who use Google as search that they can come to our website and can view our website. Is there an option to block this link from google and other search machines to our website.

  You can make your blog private by going to Settings > Reading and changing Site Visibility to “I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose.”

  Hello adrewcpht, Many thanks for your quick response.This option was known to me and was not what I wanted because al my members have to make a separate account to log in. Is there not another option to make it possible to block the link from our site to the search machines as Google where everything is visible by easily typing the name of our site and also with other links showing pictures of our site. And how can I take away the already excisting links ! I activate already in settings the option to block, but this is not guarenteed.

  You can set the permissions to not have search engines index your site – that is not 100% but lets people visit without having an account etc. Google and other major search engines should respect the request

  It can take search engines several months to clear their cache’s of indexed content – some search engines never clear them
