Help to create second theme for blog

I host my blog on my own domain. I would like help with making a second theme for certain pages. I don’t know how to edit and don’t want to screw up the theme I’ve got. My site is http://www.goforchange.com. I want to make a theme that just has my header w/o the tabs across the top, or the two sidebars. Also would prefer to keep the footer. Can someone help me with this?
