Help to do a backup of my blog in Personal version
-
Hello,
I have some years ago done backup of my blog, “stickans.blog”, so now it’s really time for a new backup. But I do not find how to due. I have thousands of pictures, the best would really be to make a backup of all, including my pictures. If this don’t works or will be expensive, I would like to, at least, do a backup excluding my pictures.
I have search on my blog and by Google, but could not find how to do. :(
On Google I only found plugins like BackupBuddy, but with my Personal version, I don’t know if I can import plugins? Since my blog is not a commercial one, but only for personal use, I’m not interesting to upgrade to Business version, only in in order to get download plugins. How to do? I’m looking for a guide and moreover gladly tips – what is the best way for me.
Thanks in advanced!Best regards

Hey there,
Since your site is hosted on WordPress.com, all the necessary backups are automatically done.
See this : https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/#backups
However, if you want to backup your site’s content manually, you can do so by the Export option under My Site → Settings.
See this for details on how to export your content :

Thanks!

Hallo vinnykaur,
First of all, thank you for the answer! The reason for my late answer is that I was waiting about 1 hour for answer, then I hope get an email if I got any answer. When I not get any email, I thougt that nobody couldn’n help me. :(
I have still one question. Do the WordPress automatically backup, inlclude backup of all my photos, or do I need a additional backup for this? You know, I’m quite sure that I have more than one thousend pictures in my blog.

I believe only links to media are included in an xml file. The idea being you are moving your content to a new site and images transfer as long as the old site is still up. If you just want to move images to your own PC see:
Exporting the media library
It is possible to export only the files contained in your media library. As above, go to My Site → Settings and select the Export option in the Site Tools section at the bottom. Then click Download in the Export media library section.Personally I don’t delete images on my PC after uploading them to my site.

Thank you themagicrobot! Now I think I know. It’s a little late just now in Sweden, but tomorrow I will test. I can mention that I have found “Export”, but thougt it only was to export to another blog. For backup, I was searching for just only “Backup”, ;)
