Help to get my domain name on blog

  I have a wordpress blog and just got a domain name that i want to use now instead of the .wordpress.com name. I have tried the dns thing with my host company and wordpress but it’s not working. I don’t have a clue as to this stuff so please give very simple answers with directions an idiot can follow. lol

  Or do you have a wordpress. org blog?
