I hired a freelancer to build a website. After completion, I changed the password, but failed to write it down and forgot it. The freelancer apparently did not configure the “lost password” link properly because it does not work. I have tried the WordPress recovery process, but it is not working either, because I am not able to provide the items the system requests to show proof of ownership. How can I speak to someone at WordPress to help me get back on track?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the URL of the site you need help with?

http://managementsuccessmentor.wordpress.com/ – is empty – if you paid for that you got ripped off – sorry

I don;’t think there is any “configuration” of the password recovery email here, the reset goes to the Admin of the blog or the email for your account.

You might be in the wrong forum

For more on the difference: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

the account recovery is the only option here, there is no phone support and you would still need to prove ownership of a site

This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features and support forums http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
