Help to recover my website

I have paid a man to build a website for my business last year around August/September. Unfortunately, he has disappeared completely and although I had asked him to give me the website login details and set up so that any emails regarding the payments for domain name and so on would come to me, he did not. I have emailed, called and texted him and I cannot reach him and all emails fail to be delivered. I realized about a week ago that the login details he gave me only allow access to one of the pages on our website and I am unable to access anything else. This weekend I was shocked to find out that the website is now completely gone.
I urgently need help to recover the website and am trying to contact someone at wordpress and can’t seem to get anywhere with it.

What is the exact URL of the site you refer to?

This is wordpress.COM support. We do not provide support for local installs of wordpress.ORG software, or for wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.

I have just tried to find out who hosts it by using your link and it says that it’s not registered yet. I don’t understand how that can be when the Website has been active for about a year. -

Hello
One more question please. Is it possible to change domain name but to recover the content of my website through wordpress? ie; images, text, etc. The web guy owns the domain and I am more interested in recovering the content of my website so I don’t have to start from scratch. I wouldn’t mind sacrificing the domain name if it’s going to be too much of a hassle to get it back.
Any suggestions?
