    This not only shuts down your username but also deletes all the WordPress.com sites you own and all their contents. After a few weeks, this data will be entirely purged from our servers, and the process cannot be reversed. Therefore, please be certain you want to cancel your entire WordPress.com presence before proceeding.

    Thank you for your response.

    First, I want to apologize for doing something I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to do. I’ve never done a forum before and in reading through some other posts I found one that said not to start another thread. I did that today not understanding how to respond properly. You can find it under the title “Unsure Financial Situation”.

    I went to the posts above but they circled me around to where I’d researched before, so my question wasn’t really answered. I thought I would rephrase my question with a little more clarity. Because of finances, I want to downgrade from Premium to Free, but keep my domain. I’m not sure what to do now – maybe this thread needs to be closed or the other one deleted? So Sorry to cause confusion.

    Hey there,

    This is totally possible – and you can still own the domain on a site, but you would need a paid plan (personal plan at a minimum) in order to set the domain as a custom primary domain.

    That said, I don’t see an active purchase on the account. What is the domain and site you’re working with?
