Help to transfer ownership of our website

  My colleague initially set this website up using his account but has since retired 4 years ago and no longer uses the email he initially set it up on. I need to get the transfer of ownership to regain access and be able to make a payment to continue the plan. I am still in contact with the initial account holder but he is unable to access due to no longer using his original email address and forgot his password. I just want to continue paying and get the website up and running again ASAP

  WordPress.com won’t and can’t transfer ownership of a site on a demand. As you have a paid plan, you also have an Transaction ID. Just use the transaction ID to restore access to the account owning that site – https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#transaction-id

  The only problem is that the owner cant remember his password and no longer uses or has the email account he registered with so he cant log in and transfer ownership. How do I get our website back up and running. I am still in contact with the owner but he has a different email address. Is there any other way of him being able to log in other than email?

  Is there someone my colleague, who is the domain and account holder, could contact in order to see if you can authenticate him or provide an alternative way to log in and change his email address?
