Help transferring a domain

    I am trying to update my employers website but a former employee did not leave any notes for account access. To my knowledge the company’s site was registered with HostGator up until last year. I do know that the email client was also HostGator but was switched over to Microsoft365. Do not know if the domain was registered or now being hosted by Microsoft. How can we go by in transitioning the site over to WordPress for hosting and editing?
