Help! Transferring domain from 123-reg
-
Hi, I would like to transfer my domain registration from 123-reg to WordPress. I already use WordPress for hosting and managing my website content, but I can’t work out how to transfer the actual domain registration to WP too.
All the guides (both on WP and 123-reg) keep pointing me in circles!
I apparently need an ‘auth code’ but I can’t seem to get this from 123-reg. The only thing it will let me do is ‘change IPS tag’ and I have no idea what that means (it’s almost like they are making it deliberately hard to do this, hmm…).
I have also tried to ‘add a domain you already own’ on WP, but it won’t let me (it comes up with the following error message: lizbellmedia.co.uk is already connected to this site and cannot be transferred to WordPress.com).
If anyone can help me with this I would be extremely grateful.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m afraid you can’t transfer a .co.uk domain to WordPress.com. The UK does things a bit differently to other countries. You’ll have to leave the domain where it is registered and map/connect it to a WordPress.com site (if you aren’t doing that already).

Oh, that’s a shame – I was hoping I could avoid having to keep paying two different places! Thank you, I appreciate your reply.
