Help–trying to cancel upgrade and can't
-
I hope I can explain this correctly..I am new to wordpress. I have a previous account of startswithawishtravel.wordpress.com. I was trying to change it to disneywishing.com…I already own the domain and had started the site in weebly but have since followed the directions to have it point to wordpress. I did an upgrade to premium and thought I could change the name but cannot.
So I then started all new with disneywishing.wordpress.com and purchased a premium upgrade on that so it will be disneywishing.com. I’m assuming it takes a day or so for this to happen.
The problem is I went in to my upgrades page and tried to cancel the upgrade to startswithawishtravel.wordpress.com as the directions stated, but when I click on “cancel this upgrade” I get a little box that pops up and says “cancel and refund” with an “X” to close the box and thats it. I just did all of this last night. How can I verify that the one I am trying to cancel has been cancelled?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
I just realized I have also been charged $99 three times….I see how I would have been charged twice but not three???
-
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.
Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.
Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades
See here:
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

as well as
Dashboard > Store > Billing History

How can I verify that the one I am trying to cancel (startswithawishtravel) has been cancelled?
It has now, sorry for the trouble with that!
I just realized I have also been charged $99 three times….I see how I would have been charged twice but not three???
It looks like you purchased the Premium Plan for https://disneywishing.wordpress.com/ and then immediately renewed it, bumping the expiration date to 2017. I have canceled and refunded the renewal, so it’s back to a June 11, 2016 expiration. :)

Great thank you! So the upgrade I tried to do for startswithawish.wordpress.com has that been cancelled and refunded also? I just want to keep the one…Disneywishing.com (premium subscription)
-
Yes, you now only have one year worth of the premium plan at https://disneywishing.wordpress.com/ and nothing at startswithawishtravel.wordpress.com.

Hi, I need some more help. I have mapped my site, Disneywishing.com (original at weebly) to my new site Disneywishing.com on wordpress. I know it can take a few hours BUT when I type in disneywishing.wordpress.com instead of pulling up my disneywishing.com (which I set to my main domain and I know the disneywishing.wordpress.com will be mapped to disneywishing.com It says “startswithawishtravel.wordpress.com does not exist”
When I type in disneywishing.com it should be pulling up either my old site at weebly or the new one I am working on, correct?
-
I would like an answer to my question from yesterday….my site is still not pulling up properly.
-
http://disneywishing.com/ appears to be properly working. Here’s what I see there: https://cloudup.com/c1tH2Qz1hap
When a domain is registered or altered, there is a process called propagation, where information about the domain name is passed to internet service providers all over the world.
This process can take up to 72 hours (though usually much less). During that time, you may also receive a warning message in your browser about “redirect errors”.
Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your internet service provider updates their records. Please rest assured that everything is proceeding normally with your domain.
You can continue to update your site while your custom domain propagates, by going directly to your Dashboard here:
http://disneywishing.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
If you still have trouble viewing the site after 72 hours have passed, please try clearing your browser’s cache:
If that doesn’t work, try clearing your local DNS cache:

Thank you. I did those two things and can now pull it up correctly. I do have one more question, however.
How do I remove the blurb at the bottom that says “blog at wordpress.com” and has the theme name? Since I purchased the premium upgrade, shouldn’t that be gone?
-
No should not be gone. You cannot remove footer credit links. There is no upgrade that provides that ability.
Removal of footer credit links is a Terms of Service violation. Though removing footer credit links, which leads to the untrue assumption that you designed the theme, and that you are hosting it yourself is not allowed, it’s possible to add your own text to the footer area using CSS if you have purchased the Business bundle or Premium bundle of upgrades containing the Custom Design upgrade. Then you can include styling credit if you have done any unique styling and/or include a copyright notice.

Added info:
If all you want to include is a copyright many bloggers do that by including a copyright notice in a text widget.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/prevent-content-theft/#1-include-a-very-clear-copyright-notice-on-your-blogSome like myself link that text widget notice to a copyright page like this one http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/copyright/

Ok that makes sense. As long as I can put my own info in the footer also which I can with the premium upgrade I purchased for $99? Is that right?
-
Isn’t that what I tried to convey above? If not, then I’m sorry I was not clear enough for you to glean that.
The premium upgrade includes a custom design upgrade in the bundle. Premium bundle details http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/
