Help understanding hosting

  I am about to register a domain with word press for a small business.

  I my blog is currently under the worldpress.com domain provided by worldpress, why would i need a hosing service?

  have other hosing services better bendwith, lower prices or what?

  And if they do, what bandwith does worldpress have?

  Sorry for the noob question, I’m new at this!

  This support document clearly sets out the differences between free hosted WordPress.com blogs and WordPress.org installs. If you wish to have complete control over a blog, the ability to upload themes and plugins, to edit themes and templates, to advertise and have an ecommerce site, then your option is to hire a web host and get a free software install from WordPress.org.

  There is no bandwidth limitation on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. You may purchase a domain name and and annually renewable domain mapping upgrade here and your blog will remain free hosted by WordPress.om. See here please because doing so changes nothing:

  You’re welcome. As you said a site for a small business I wanted you to be clear about the advertising, ecommerce, and affiliate links limitations on WordPress.com blogs. They don’t change when you simply purchase a domain and domain mapping and the blog remains free hosted by WordPress.com.

  In a nutshell no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by WordPress.com.
