HELP!! URL domain name change

  Hi,

  I am new to this site and am having trouble changing my URL to something else, HELP ME!!! I was in “myblogs” and cliked on “change name” it won’t allow me to. Even when I tried to start from the beginning I was unable to register the name I wanted. Since Im so new at this DETAILS are important to me. If you have any suggestions for me please let me know.

  I would like to have my URL without the wordpress.com and know I will pay which is fine with me, jus send some help this way!

  Hi. If you want to remove the “wordpress.com” from your blog’s address, these are the instructions you should be following:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/

  You choose either “Register a new domain through WordPress.com” or “Map an existing domain (one you already own) to your WordPress.com blog”, depending on whether you bought a domain name already or not.

  When I went to ‘add domain’ to blog – to tells me I am unable to add that name. This is where I am getting confused. It doesn’t allow me to create a new name or add one?

  Thoughts?

  Strange, that domain name appears to be available indeed. Please try following these instructions one more time.

  Scratch that… now when I go to “my blogs” still only one pops up and it is spelled out “dotcom” not actually .com…

  Annnnd it the site took my $25 yet there is no evidence that I actually got a blog otu of it. This is getting quite frustrating.

  Any other suggestions

  On your WordPress.com dashboard, your old address will continue to appear, but let me reassure you taht http://willrun4cake.com works for me and takes me to a blog where you posted “New beginnings”.

  Basically you still have one blog. It’s just the address that appears for your visitors that changes.

  Change your title “willrun4cakesdotcom” from

  Dashboard >> Settings >> General – change the Title and Tagline to something with a bit more “class”

  This will not affect your URL – the blog title was picked up from your base site. No big deal, just change it as noted above.
