I am having similar problem. Have not been able to view my videopress videos on all our home computers. But friends and clients were able to open. Now, some of our clients cannot open.
When clicking on play arrow, screen goes blank/white.

I contact support weeks ago. Have tried every solution they suggested.

If you cannot view the videos and are experiencing a white screen it could be that your Flash is not up to date. You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Which browser and version of it are you using? Have your tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies

Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.

Do you have third party cookies enabled? Do you have another browser you can try?

    What are 3rd party cookies?

the latest flash didn’t solve Videopress embedded videos problem

Spent time talking with our ISP and they said to contact you

We are on comcast internet, each of our clients that are experiencing the malfunction have different internet connections

    I use http

Upgraded my browser in Aug when the problem first appeared

    Cleared my cache and cookies

    What else can I try?

  • Can you please tell us what browser (and version of) you’re using?

    Hello Everyone,

First off thanks for taking the time to help!

I’ve been searching the forums, but have not found a suitable solution to the VideoPress issue I’m Having. I’ve uploaded an 11Mb .AVI file through the media library. I cannot insert this into any page or post b/c the preview always says “this video is being processed.”

It’s a relatively small file, and I tried deleting and re-uploading as suggested on another forum response. Any new information/ suggestions about the problem?

    Thanks for the time

Can you please tell us what browser (and version of) you’re using?

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve tried it on both IE8 and the latest IE9 on a XP and Vista box respectively, and both with the latest Flash updates.

    Thanks again

i am having the same problem!! and have been trying to solve it for weeks. i had about a dozen emails back and forth with the wordpress support team and even they couldn’t help. i have adobe flash player active, i have tried different browsers, i have cleaned the cache and got rid of cookies!!

initially my videos played no problem, then they were visible on my computer screen, but would disappear when i clicked on them. now 6 of them have disappeared completely, and the page is blank where they were.

if anyone can help me with this it would be so appreciated. i am totally frustrated.

Thanks for posting your browser versions. Would you consider trying Firefox or Chrome?

  • Unknown's avatar

    @timethief

I’ll try anything at this point. Thanks for the suggestion, has that actually been having an effect?

  • This could be browser-specific issue, so trying Firefox or Chrome would definitely help us narrow it down.

I recommend Chrome, as it has Flash player built-in.

Well thank you for the suggestions, but neither browser made a difference. The video still remains “processing.” I appreciate the very cost effective nature of this site, but it’s dissapointing when paid services don’t function, and you can’t even contact support because of a company siesta.

How long is it actually supposed to take for a reasonable sized video, say 20-50 Mb, to process?

I appreciate your time, and insight!

  • Ah, it’s stuck in processing, that makes a huge difference.

Can you please tell me the title of the video so that I can look it up?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Thank you,

its titled “Bando_2000_Multiple_Stick_form” , hope you havn’t forgotten me, i was very busy this past week.

Thanks for anything you can find
