HELP! Vostok header CSS
-
Also, it does not change the navigation menu colors either. Those will stay blue as well.
-
I’ve been meaning to mention this, but you have outstanding photographs. Makes me want to load up my camera gear and head to Norway.
-
Thank you so very much, Sacredpath!
If you only knew how glad I am for your patience and help tonight!
I do not know what to say really.Font colors is a mess and I will try to find a good color in the next couple of days.
Now, I`m over to your blog for a visit!
Wish you peace and happiness.
Best regards

Seung Kye,
You are welcome and your blog is looking very good.
One more thing I might add to your CSS would be the following.
#secondary {float:right; }If you add more and wider things to your right sidebar at the bottom, it will look better and be more balanced.
-
Perfect! :-)
I got to tell you, the font colors is really complicated and
it will become another project for another day ;-)
Tried some blues, like on my website, but when you miss the color, you miss it real good! I almost threw up at my first attempts. The lower right footer/widget really helped, Richard!
-
Yeah, the color thing can be challenging.
This is the existing color for the blog title: #0099cc .
This is one of the split complimentary colors: #cc9900 . It is still toward the yellow-orange, but more subdued.
-
Really challenging!
I`ve tried some variations, but I went for the font colors to match
the ones on my website.
Funny how the change of one font, totally changes the other ones ;-)
Tomorrow I`m on it again and see if I come up with something better.Hope you will have a wonderful evening, Richard!
Best Wishes

Richard, I tried to upload a 640px. image unsuccessfully.
What happened was that the image was squeezed together (into the 520px. size of Vostok original) and the image looked distorted.I double checked that the codes you gave me were the ones that I have in my CSS editor and I typed 800px. width in Settings-Media-Large Size (Image Size), but
still it was distorted/pushed into 520px.Do you know what causes this?
Or how I can fix it? -
On the CSS edit page, right above the “save stylesheet” button you can enter the maximum image size that your CSS changes will allow. Put 800 in there and click “save stylesheet.”
-
-
Try inserting an image with the “full-sized” setting and see what happens. Are the images 800px wide when uploaded or a different size?
-
Just tried it.
Uploaded a 800 wide in a new post (draft) and clicked Preview.
The image has larger resolution, but still distorted within 520px. -
-
Ahhhhh!!!!!! Found the culprit.
Add this to your CSS
.entry-content img { max-width:800px; }They defined the maximum image width in the CSS instead of pulling it from the CSS edit stuff.
-
By the way, do you want the white border around the images?
If not, add the following to the above selector
border:none; -
You`re the man, Richard!
Earlier I always added: <img style=”border:none;background:transparent;”
in HTML editor when uploading image to get rid of that border.
I guess now I don`t have to anymore :-)Thank you so much for the max. image width!
Immensely appreciate it. -

Richard, I`ve gone through all the selectors in my original Vostok stylesheet
to find, and replace, the one that can change the navigation/main menu font color…with no success.Could you help me with the one selector
that only changes the font color of the top navigation/main menu, please?
I have the color code already.Best Wishes

Seung Kye, this covers the basic color of the text in the nav
#access a { color:#FFFFFF !important; }This is the “hover” color when someone hovers their mouse over the text. Sometimes it is nice to have a slightly different hover color so that visitors can see which menu item they have their mouse on.
#access li:hover > a, #access ul ul:hover > a { color:#FFFFFF !important; }
