Help – wacky widgets

  • Unknown's avatar

Yesterday my widgets had lost all of their formatting, so I just ended up redoing it all. Now the widgets that are supposed to be on the right are ending up at the bottom left of my page. Why is this happening? I’m so frustrated with all of these bugs!

    Thanks.

I hear your frustration and I’m sorry this is happening to you yet again. The only information we have is found in this thread near the bottom on page 5.

I received this from Mark today:
    Hi,
    Please do this:
    – go to your Presentation page
    – click Sidebar widgets
    – rearrange them
    – Save them
    – on your blog reload by pressing:
    ctrl+f5 (Windows)
    apple+r (Mac)
    f5 (Linux)
    Please do the above carefully.

    Mark

Okay – I figured out that it was putting my widgets on the left hand side because one of my pictures was too wide and pushing it off the page. It was my fault this time! Sorry!

Where is the best place to put in a suggestion for easier photo editing (i.e. I’d like an option to keep the size ratio when editing)?

I’m glad you figured it out. As for suggestions to staff you can send in a feedback including your reasons and post to the ideas forum. The bottom line is that only small images like thumbnails will fit into text widgets in the sidebar without mucking up your theme’s layout.

It was actually my picture in the main content that was expanding the middle portion of my page and throwing the right side off.

When you edit a photo using the visual editor it does keep the aspect ratio, which it didn’t used to do. Change the width and wipe out the height and it should set automatically.
