  Hi there I am trying to make a business website for a family friend and have created a base on https://acapasssociates.wordpress.com/, I was hoping to the marry the domain name that they have hosted on extend platform. When trying to do this I indadvertedly created the website http://www.acapassociates.co.uk/ with nothing on it.
  What I would like to do is to marry the website ending in wordpress to the domain name on the empty website. How do I do this? thanks for any suggestion

  Hi there. It looks like you set up a self-hosted site on http://www.acapassociates.co.uk/ instead of connecting it to your WordPress.com site.

  To connect it to your WordPress.com site, first go to the Store section of the dashboard for https://acapasssociates.wordpress.com/ to buy the domain mapping upgrade. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  Then contact your registrar where you bought the custom domain and have them change your domain’s name servers to point to WordPress.com, and cancel your hosting account you currently have for that domain, as you won’t need that.

  To be absolutely clear: cancel only the hosting account. The domain itself needs to stay with the current registrar, as you won’t be able to transfer it to WordPress.com.
