help with a private page

i’m making a private page but i want to make a link to it in my side bar
i tried using the text widget but the link comes out in the side bar as writing below the widget title
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The code for a plain link is this:
<a href="PAGE URL HERE">LINKING TEXT HERE</a>(But what is the purpose of a link to a private page?)

can i turn the widget title into the link instead
i know i can do without the title but i would like to try the above if possible

Please do us a big favor. Tell us exactly what you want as an end product. What is the optimum outcome from your POV? Once you do that then we will understand what it is that you want to achieve, and we will provide instructions for how to accomplish whatever it is that you want. -

the link is in a text widget
if i put the title in its larger but it looks stupid 2 things saying the same thing
so if i put the title in on its own can that be turned into a link
thats about the only way i can explain it

Okay so what you want is a large sized link to your other site placed in a text widget. That gives rise to the these questions:
1. Exactly how how large do you want the font to be?

@Harry: Text (including links) in a text widget can be styled any way you like. For instructions on changing font size (and color), see here:

For example, an orange link 50% larger than regular would be:
<a href="URL HERE" style="color:#ff5500;font-size:150%;">TEXT HERE</a>
You can make it even more prominent by adding a border and/or background color, or by creating an image link, as timethief said. But better show us where the link is and either tell us how exactly you’d like it to be or let me make a suggestion. -
