Help with activating a theme

Hi,
I’ve started developing my wordpress site using a godaddy hosting a couple of days ago. I have chosen a theme called boardwalk by automattic but I can’t seem to make the theme work even by default. It seems that it is colliding with the initial theme chosen when I installed wordpress via installatron. Am I doing something wrong? I’ve tried other themes too and their design is also being interfered by the initial theme I chose. I’m hoping someone could help me with this issue.

It does sound like some third-party code is interfering with your themes. Could you delete the initial theme you mentioned and also deactivate any plugins on your site?

The difference between the two types of WordPress (WordPress.com and WordPress.org) is a common point of confusion, and I definitely understand how you ended up on this forum given that the theme you’re using was created by Automattic too.
As your site is hosted outside of WordPress.com, the theme’s dedicated support forum over on WordPress.org is the best place for you to go with any extra questions:
