Help with Akismet
-
Hello, I’m starting my first blog and I am unclear about Akismet. It appears to be already installed on my dashboard (menu includes Akismet Stats). I think I need to go to Akismet and get a key. However, from what I’ve read once I get my key I need to then go to my dashboard and click on plugins and add new. On my dashboard, plugins is not there to click on. What does this mean?
Also, on one of the support pages it mentions using Jetpack instead???
I’m not sure what to do. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
This site http://walklightlysmileoften.com/ is a WordPress.com hosted blog so the good news is that Akismet is built-in and you don’t need to do a thing.WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of some themes with same names. Also read this please so you are clear on the differences. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
There is no FTP access to WordPress.com and we cannot install plugins.

JetPack is a Plugin that is by WordPress.COM to give WordPress.ORG installs many of the features that are built into your blog here already. So in many ways you are a bit ahead of the WordPress.ORG installed blogs.
