help with audio in practice

I have searched and found some of the info I need in other posts but not very clear on how to go about it!
I want to upload an mp3 of someone reading a piece from my book.
I think I’ve understood I need a space upgrade for that.
Then I upload it from the computer. After that I’m unclear!
Do I do a normal link saying you can download this “here” (for instance) like I would to any other sort of link – but what in fact happens when they click on the link? Do they download it to their desktop or does it have to be listened to there and then?

No you don’t need the space upgrade. You can upload the mp3 to Fileden, get its direct URL, and paste it in the html post or page editor this way:
[audio URL_HERE]
This will produce the wp audio player – see here for example:

Thanks – just the help I needed. Couldn’t find that page! I have registered but am awaiting their email. Will visitors have to listen in situ or will they be able to download it from Fileden?

In situ. If you want them to download it, you can give them the link. Techies can find it themselves.
