Help with Backup database

    Hello novice here. I have build a site for my business using wordpress.com with the “bold news” theme (which i love). I need to backup what I have built so far so I can move to godaddy hosting so I have more flexibility. However, from what I can read in the forums I need a “plugin” to do that but there is no plugin tab on dashboard. Please help I’m totally confused.

    We cannot access our database files for free hosted WordPress.com blogs. You can create a backup XML export file at any time that will contain your blog content and upload it to your own computer. You can also create a separate file for your links.
    export > http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/blogroll/import-export-links/

    However, from what I can read in the forums I need a “plugin” to do that but there is no plugin tab on dashboard.
