  how can i add two blocks side by side instead of being vertically on the top of eachother
  thanks in advance

  Hi there,

  If you click on the add blocks icon, you can find the block ‘Columns’ under Layout Elements, which gives you the option to have two or more blocks side by side. Alternatively you can just search for ‘Columns’ in the search bar.

  If you’re still not sure, you can go to https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/columns-block/ to see how the column block works.
