Help with Blog Name on WordPress.com
-
Hello,
I used to have mycreativeedge.com until Aug last when I also had a matching mycreativeedge.wordpress.com blog.
Later I changed the domain name to http://www.thehappinessblog.net and want to change the wordpress blog to match in the same username.
Now my username is thehappynessblog.
but the primary blog name under Settings is still mycreativeedge.com and I do not have option to change this.
Also I want to create a blog thehappynessblog.wordpress.com and I am not able to do that..
I cant seem to understand if I have already created that blog, if yes where and how do I check that?
Please help. Thanks, SV

Also I want to create a blog thehappynessblog.wordpress.com and I am not able to do that..
The deleted blog URL will not become available again. I’m sorry but you cannot recover or register any deleted blog URL. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

The domain thehappinessblog.net is already registered and pointing to a site hosted elsewhere:
http://who.is/whois/http://thehappinessblog.netIf you own that domain, you can point it to a blog at WordPress.com by updating the name servers at GoDaddy, the domain registrar.
It looks like you changed your username from mycreativeedge to thehappynessblog and a new blog at thehappynessblog.wordpress.com was created, but it was subsequently deleted. You do not appear to have any active WordPress.com blogs at this time.
The site mycreativeedge.com is showing up in your list of blogs because it is a blog hosted on Hostgator and running Jetpack.
In your account settings at https://wordpress.com/settings/account/, you have listed http://thehappinessblog.wordpress.com/ as your blog, but that is owned by a different user account.
If you want to have a new blog at WordPress.com, you can create it here:
http://wordpress.com/my-blogs/For that new blog, you will not be able to use the address of any blog that has been deleted.

Jackiedana,
Thanks so much for the very detailed response. Appreciate it very much.
OK. I own the website, http://www.thehappinessblog.net and runs on wordpress.org.
1. Kindly advise me the step by step instructions to delete mycreativeedge.com from my list of blogs.
2. Can I have a single log in to both wordpress.com and wordpress.org?
3. If I can have a single log in, how to add wp.com to my existing wp.org account.
thanks, SV

Are you using Jetpack on the site at mycreativeedge.com? If so, it will appear in your list of blogs on WordPress.com. If you are no longer using it there, I can disconnect it for you.
We have added “Single Sign On” as a feature in Jetpack as well. This will allow you to use your WordPress.com credentials to log into your self-hosted blog if you have Jetpack connected.

Jackie, thanks again for your response.
Ok, I changed the domain name on hostgator from mycreativeedge.com to thehappinessblog.net
So the domain name http://www.mycreativeedge.com is no longer available.
Therefore I need to have jetpack on my new domain name thehappinessblog.net
Thanks very much for your help.
Appreciate it much.

You will need to install Jetpack on your new site and connect it to your WordPress.com account.
Would you like me to remove http://www.mycreativeedge.com from your list of blogs?
-
Yes Jackie.
Pls go ahead and remove mycreativeedge from the list of blogs.
Also, is there any way to bring back the deleted og to life?
Thanks.

It looks like mycreativeedge.com is already gone.
Deleting blogs is permanent, and we do not recycle blog names. You are welcome to create a blog with a different address at any time, however.
-
Jackie,
Thankyou very much for all your help.
I have a new blog created on my .com account. I will go ahead and start blogging from here.
thanks much once again and have a good one!
thanks, SV
