help with changing admin info on my website

    Hello, I am only able to access my WordPress admin through Siteground. I do not seem to be able to login directly through WordPress. I thought that the problem might be because the web developer is listed as admin. So I tried to change the email address to my own. I get the email from WordPress to confirm the email change request, but then there is a link that leads me to sign into WordPress. When I try to sign into WordPress, it says ‘Unknown email address. Check again or try your username.’. I did set up an account with WordPress, so I am not sure why I am getting this message.

    The forum you’re posting to now is for WordPress sites hosted on WordPress.com.

    Your WordPress site is hosted with Siteground, so we don’t have any control over it, and your site has no connection at all to us. WordPress.com is not the same as the open source WordPress software you’re using, and that’s made by the community on WordPress.org.

    For advice on how to fix issues with verifying the email address on your site, pleas ask the WordPress.org community who makes the WordPress software instead:
