Help with changing the width of my pictures

  I chose OLSEN because I really liked how it allows for a large photo on the front page. However, my pictures are uploading small. I want to just take the edge and expand them outward like you can do when you’re cropping an image, but I know it is not that simple. I do feel however, it is an easy fix… if I could just understand how to change the width..
